Bahla – The second edition of the Bahla Winter Festival commenced this evening in the Wilayat of Bahla, Dakhiliyah Governorate, aiming to promote domestic tourism and showcase Omani culture to visitors.

The festival was inaugurated under the patronage of His Excellency Salem bin Mohammed al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism.

Eng. He emphasised that it serves as a vital platform to celebrate and promote the cultural and tourism heritage of the wilayat.

The festival highlights Bahla’s rich history, with a special focus on Bahla Fort, Oman’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site. Al Shaqsi noted that this year’s edition aims to further enhance awareness of Omani heritage through a range of recreational, educational, and cultural activities.

A key attraction is the open-air theatre within the fort, which will host heritage performances, theatrical productions, and cultural and entertainment competitions catering to all age groups. The festival is expected to draw a large number of visitors, enriching their experience with Oman’s deep-rooted history and traditions.
