Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik issued Royal Decree No 17/2025 promulgating the Omani Nationality Law on Sunday. The decree reads as follows:
Article 1 stipulates that provisions of the Omani Nationality Law attached to this decree will be enforced.
Article 2 states that the Minister of Interior will issue the Executive Regulation and decisions necessary for implementation of the provisions of the attached law. Until such time, the existing regulations and decisions will continue to be enforced in matters not specifically provided for in the attached law, without prejudice to its provisions.
Article 3 cancels Royal Decree No 38/2014 on the Omani Nationality Law. It also cancels all that contradicts the attached law or contravenes its provisions.
Article 4 states that this decree will be published in the Official Gazette and enforced from the day following its date of publication.
