Muscat – The Muscat Nights festival has set a new benchmark in Oman’s events scene drawing a record-breaking 1.7mn visitors in 41 days. According to Ahmed bin Mohammed al Humaidi, Chairman of Muscat Municipality, the festival was a resounding success, marking a significant milestone in Oman’s cultural and tourism landscape.
Held from December 23, 2024 the festival spanned seven locations – Amerat Park, Naseem Public Park, Oman Automobile Association, Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, Al Hail Beach, Wadi al Khoud and Qurum Natural Park. The diverse venues were carefully chosen to ensure accessibility for both residents and tourists across Muscat.
This edition marked the first time the festival was held in as many as seven venues, with a wide array of activities ranging from sports to cultural exhibitions to entertainment shows.
“The festival’s success was not just in entertaining visitors but also in supporting local businesses. More than 1,000 small and medium enterprises and artisan families participated, showcasing their products and services. Additionally, over 1,300 personnel were deployed to manage operations, supporting jobseekers throughout the event,” Humaidi informed.
He stressed on the economic and community impact of the festival, noting that it provided a platform for local talent and businesses to flourish while enhancing the capital’s appeal as a cultural hub.
Though the festival ended on Saturday, Muscat Nights activities at Wadi al Khoud will continue till February 16.
