Ibra – North Sharqiyah has signed several agreements for development and service projects totalling more than RO40mn.
Signed on Thursday by Mahmoud bin Yahya al Dhahli, Governor of North Sharqiyah, the agreements represent the governorate’s continued commitment to sustainable development and enhancing the quality of life for its citizens.
The 23 projects covered by the agreements aim to improve infrastructure, tourism and social services in the governorate’s wilayats. Key projects include designing and paving of internal roads in several wilayats valued at RO24.9mn, and establishment of a new market in Sinaw, costing RO9.7mn. Another significant project is the Bidiyah entertainment centre costing RO2.55mn.
In addition, the agreements include development of several parks and recreational facilities – Al Ghubra Park in Dima wa al Taien and Al Khalidiya Park in Wadi Bani Khalid – costing RO3.6mn.
Other projects include establishment of three multi-purpose halls in Bidiyah, Wadi Bani Khalid and Dima wa al Taien, development of Ezz Village in Al Qabil, and a visitors’ facility in Wadi Bani Khalid.
Dhahli informed that these projects are in alignment with Oman Vision 2040, aiming to provide essential services, enhance local economic and tourism indicators, and create job opportunities. The diverse nature of the projects, ranging from road paving to setting up parks and markets, is set to boost the governorate’s economic and commercial landscape while enhancing the living standards of its residents.
