Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, held an official session of talks at Al Alam Palace on Tuesday.

At the outset of the session, His Majesty the Sultan reiterated his welcome to Sheikh Tamim and his accompanying delegation. His Majesty expressed his delight over the visit, wishing him and his accompanying delegation a pleasant stay in Oman.

On his turn, Sheikh Tamim conveyed his gratitude and appreciation to His Majesty the Sultan for the warm welcome and hospitality.

The session reviewed cooperation, understanding and fraternity between the two countries, in addition to areas of partnership and investment, and opportunities available to promote these further. The talks explored widening cooperation in various spheres in a manner that boosts the economies of the two countries and meet aspirations of their peoples.

The two leaders also exchanged views on current developments in the world and their repercussions in the region, and ways to achieve regional and international peace, security and stability.
