Muscat – The International Science Council (ISC) has announced the establishment of a regional office in Muscat, marking a significant step in strengthening scientific collaboration in the Middle East. The announcement was made during the Global Knowledge Dialogue – Muscat Forum, held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, under the patronage of Sayyid Asaad bin Tariq al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs, Personal Representative of His Majesty.
The two-day forum features discussions on the future of science and society, equality, and social cohesion, bringing together international experts to address global challenges and explore priorities for scientific cooperation. H E Dr Rahma bint Ibrahim al Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation stated that the event serves as an opportunity to foster international partnerships in research, development, and knowledge exchange.
In addition to the ISC regional office, a special programme for cooperation in science, technology, and innovation will be implemented, further reinforcing Oman’s role as a hub for scientific advancement in the region.
The establishment of the ISC office in Oman is expected to enhance international scientific collaboration, facilitate regional research initiatives, and support global knowledge-sharing efforts.
