Muscat – Muscat Tennis Cricket League (MTCL), the largest tennis ball cricket community in Oman, is set to host the highly anticipated MTCL Premiere League, presented by Braveheart. The tournament will feature 24 teams, competing in thrilling 6-over matches, held day and night at the prestigious Amerat Ground on February 21 and 22. The entry fee for the event is set at OMR 200, which includes a complete cricket kit for the participating teams.
Founded a decade ago with just a few teams and limited resources, MTCL has evolved into a thriving community with over 110 teams and nearly 2,000 players. Speaking about the upcoming tournament, Shaheer KC, Founder and Chairman of MTCL, said, “The MTCL Premiere League is a testament to our commitment to elevating tennis ball cricket in Oman. Our goal is to provide a professional and enjoyable platform for players to showcase their talent while fostering camaraderie within the community.”
The league has received unwavering support from the Ministry of Sports and Oman Cricket, enabling it to organize high-quality and disciplined tournaments. Currently, MTCL operates three active leagues with participation from more than 300 teams, further cementing its role in developing the sport across the Sultanate.
Liju Memana, Secretary of MTCL, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming event, stating, “We are excited to welcome teams from across Oman to compete in this exciting format. The tournament not only offers competitive cricket but also builds lasting friendships and sportsmanship.”
The event is proudly supported by title sponsor Santhosh Braveheart, along with associate partner Cumin Hamoud Al Wahaibi, and organizers Anuraj Rajan and Muhammed Rafi, who have played a crucial role in shaping the league’s success.
MTCL continues its mission to expand tennis ball cricket across Oman with future initiatives, including the much-anticipated Salalah League Season 2.
