Student led Startup Forum inaugurated in Manah

Manah, Dakhliyah – The first annual Student-Led Startup Forum for the academic year 2024-2025 was inaugurated today at the Oman Across Ages Museum in Manah, Dakhliyah governorate, under the theme ‘Empowerment and Sustainability.’ The forum, organised by the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, features 24 student companies and will run for two days.

Sheikh Hilal bin Saeed al Hajri, Governor of Dakhliyah, attended the opening ceremony. Dr. Saeed bin Hamad al Rubaie, President of the University, highlighted the forum’s alignment with Oman Vision 2040 and the university’s commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. He also noted the increase in student-led businesses, reflecting the positive impact of university initiatives.

Dr. Raya bint Rashid al Ameri, Director of the university’s Entrepreneurship and Industrial Relations Centre, explained that the forum provides a platform for student start-ups to present their ideas to potential investors.

The forum’s first day featured presentations on entrepreneurship, innovation, and sustainable start-ups, with contributions from experts inside and outside Oman. The event concluded with the opening of an exhibition showcasing the work of 24 student companies across various sectors, including AI, renewable energy, and health.
