Muscat – As part of its efforts to promote Oman as a leading tourist destination, Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has announced that a tourism representative office will soon be established in Spain.
The move is aimed at enhancing the sultanate’s visibility in the European market and attracting a larger number of tourists.
The announcement was made during Oman’s participation in International Tourism Trade Fair – Fitur 2025 – in Madrid, where the ministry showcased the country’s unique tourism offerings.
The fair served as a platform to strengthen cooperation with international partners and highlight Oman’s diverse tourism assets.
H E Salim bin Mohammed al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, said that the sultanate’s participation in the fair aims to present Oman as a distinctive and attractive tourist destination. He noted that setting up a representative office in Spain would support efforts to increase tourist arrivals from Spain, one of the world’s leading tourism markets.
“Spain leads global tourism growth, and we aim to leverage this opportunity to enhance Oman’s profile in the international tourism scene,” said H E Mahrouqi.
The ministry also launched a comprehensive external promotional campaign, which includes advertising panels at the fair, as well as prominent locations across Madrid and on buses throughout the city.
