Bahla – Bahla Wali’s Office organised a walk on Saturday to showcase the rich cultural, natural and heritage landmarks of the wilayat in collaboration with Bahla Charity Team.

The event aimed to boost domestic tourism, encourage physical activity and highlight Bahla’s cultural identity.

Sultan bin Nasser al Nabhani, head of Bahla Charity Team, informed that the inaugural Bahla Walk drew nearly 8,000 young participants, excluding 200 women from various governorates. “The turnout exceeded expectations and reflects  enthusiasm to explore Bahla’s heritage,” he said.

The walk started at the historic Bahla Fort, a Unesco World Heritage Site, and went past key landmarks, including Bab al Khorzoban, Ibn Baraka Mosque, Ard al Madana and Jabal al Mahta before concluding at Al Alaya and Bahla Market.

“The route was carefully planned to showcase Bahla’s heritage and tourism attractions, such as its iconic castles, forts, towers and the natural beauty of its wadis, mountains and farms,” Nabhani added.

The event also sought to raise awareness on the benefits of walking for health while fostering community engagement and partnerships among various groups.

Bahla’s initiative demonstrates the wilayat’s potential as a destination for cultural and eco-tourism, offering visitors a blend of history, natural beauty and physical activity.
