Muscat – Joint committees of State Council and Majlis A’Shura have reached consensus on several disputed articles of drafts of the Personal Income Tax Law, Financial Law, and Special Economic Zones and Free Zones.

In a meeting on Monday, the joint committees held constructive discussions on articles of disagreement.

The committees resolved differences in 30 articles of the Personal Income Tax Law, 21 articles in the Financial Law, and 22 articles related to the Special Economic Zones and Free Zones Law.

The disputed articles included both original draft laws and new articles proposed by Majlis A’Shura.

With all disagreements now resolved, the final versions of the laws have been approved. The draft laws will be submitted for further deliberation during an upcoming joint session of the State Council and Majlis A’Shura.
