Muscat – The Authority for Public Services Regulation (APSR) has announced updated electricity tariffs effective from January 1, 2025.
A decision to this effect, issued by Salem bin Nasser bin Saeed al Aufi, Chairman of APSR’s Board of Directors, amends several provisions of the Cost Reflective Tariff for electricity connection and supply.
The revised tariffs aim to streamline electricity pricing across multiple sectors, including residential, non-residential, agricultural and fisheries aligning these in the public interest.
The load tariff will be in accordance to what is stipulated in the licensee’s electricity connection regulations approved by APSR.
These tariffs do not include the value of metre, connection accessories, service cable between energy source and subscriber’s property or installation labour costs.
The updated tariffs aim to enhance sustainability and efficiency of the electricity sector while ensuring a fair and transparent pricing structure across all consumer categories.
The decision was issued on December 23.
