Muscat – The second edition of the ‘Emotions of the Oceans’ Children’s Art Exhibition concluded on December 18, 2024, at the Tivan Business Center in Muscat. Organised by Green Life Art Center, the exhibition celebrated the remarkable creativity of young artists aged 8 to 15, whose works highlighted the emotional and environmental connection between marine life and human feelings.
Showcasing 50 exceptional artworks crafted by students from five schools across Muscat as well as individual participants, the exhibition explored themes such as calmness, fear, joy, and mystery, reflecting the vast emotional landscape of the oceans. By engaging with marine imagery, participants not only expressed their creativity but also demonstrated their commitment to marine conservation.
The closing ceremony featured an exclusive ‘Symphony of Colors Workshop’, where young participants explored the harmony between music and visual art. The workshop offered a transformative experience, blending sound with creativity and inspiring collaborative expression.
Founder’s statement
Speaking about the exhibition, Niasa Mobtada, founder of Green Life Art Center, shared, “This exhibition builds on the theme of emotions linked to the oceans, pushing the boundaries of creativity while promoting environmental responsibility. By engaging with marine imagery, the children have created artworks that resonate deeply, showcasing their emotional connection to nature and their commitment to its preservation.”
Guest of Honor’s Statement
The exhibition was graced by the presence of Ms. Manar Abdullah al Riyami, head of the Turtle Commandos Program, as the Guest of Honor. Sharing her thoughts, she remarked, “I am truly impressed by the creativity and depth displayed by these young artists. The depiction of turtles throughout the exhibition was especially moving, as it reflects the children’s awareness of the vital role these creatures play in our marine ecosystems. Their work is a powerful reminder of the need to protect the oceans and its inhabitants. This exhibition beautifully bridges art and conservation, inspiring all generations to care for our environment.”

Aligned with Oman Vision 2040, the ‘Emotions of the Oceans’ exhibition served as a platform to foster creativity, environmental awareness, and emotional expression among young minds. It also encouraged sustainability by inspiring participants to use eco-friendly materials in their artworks.
The event concluded with heartfelt acknowledgments to the participating schools, individual artists, and supporters, emphasising the collective effort that made this edition a resounding success. With 50% of the proceeds from artwork sales donated to a cultural charity supporting community art projects, the exhibition left a lasting impact on both the participants and the community.
