Muscat – With an aim to promote fitness and unity, ambassadors of six Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries gathered on Friday morning for a community walk. The event to encourage healthy living, while also promoting stronger ties among ASEAN member states, was held under the patronage of Sheikh Abdulaziz Muhammad Saif al Hosni, Head of Asia and Pacific Department at Foreign Ministry.
Hosted at the Indonesian ambassador’s residence in Shatti al Qurum. this was the second edition of the event held by ASEAN countries in Muscat.
Participants set off on a 3km route from the Foreign Ministry headquarters to the Indonesian Embassy.
Speaking at the event, Hosni said, “This initiative underscores the dual objectives of fostering stronger bonds among ASEAN member nations and promoting a healthy lifestyle as a key to preventing illnesses. This event emphasises the importance of both physical wellness and regional collaboration.”
Representatives of ASEAN member countries – Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam – participated in the event.
