Muscat – H H Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Council of Ministers, received President Aleksandr Lukashenko of the Republic of Belarus, at the Council of Ministers headquarters in Muscat on Wednesday.

H H Sayyid Fahd welcomed the president and his accompanying delegation, hoping that relations between the two countries would continue to grow and flourish.

H H Sayyid Fahd praised the positive outcome of the president’s official visit to the Sultanate of Oman. He expressed his appreciation for the harmonic convergence of visions between Oman and Belarus in their drive to serve the interests of the two friendly peoples.

On his part, President Lukashenko commended the outcome of the official talks he held with His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, noting that the talks consolidated relations between the two friendly countries. He expressed his admiration for the accomplishments made by Oman.

He conveyed his country’s appreciation for the Sultanate of Oman’s prudent policies on domestic and foreign fronts.

The meeting discussed ways of activating bilateral cooperation, exchanging expertise and supporting the role of the private sector in developing joint investments in the two friendly countries.

The meeting also touched on current issues and developments in regional and international arenas, as well as efforts to establish peace and stability to furnish better grounds of prosperity for all peoples.

The meeting was attended by Omani ministers and government officials and members of the official delegation accompanying President Lukashenko.

Visit concludes

President Lukashenko and his accompanying delegation left Oman following the official visit lasting several days on Wednesday.

The guest was seen off at Royal Airport by Sayyid Badr Hamad al Busaidi, Foreign Minister; Abdulsalam Mohammed al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority (Head of the Mission of Honour); Hamoud Salim al Tuwaih, Ambassador of Oman to the Russian Federation and Non-resident Ambassador to Belarus; Sergei Terentiev, Non-resident Ambassador of Belarus to Oman; and members of the Mission of Honour.

The president was accompanied during the visit by an official delegation comprising Viktor Aleksandr Lukashenko, his son and President of Belarusian Olympic Committee; Maxim Ryzhenkov, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Alexander Efimov, Minister of Industry; Anatoly Linevich, Minister of Agriculture and Food; and Sergei Terentiev, Non-resident Ambassador of Belarus to Oman.
