Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander, presented Service Excellence and Royal Commendation Medals to several commissioned and non-commissioned officers of military and civilian branches of Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF), the Ministry of Defence and Royal Guard of Oman on Wednesday.

Held at Al Murtafa’a Camp, the ceremony was held under the patronage of H H Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, who pinned the medals on the honourees in recognition of their loyalty and dedication to serving the nation and fulfilling their national duties.

H H Sayyid Shihab congratulated the recipients, praising their commitment to the country. He encouraged them to continue their loyal service under the wise leadership of His Majesty the Sultan.

The ceremony was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Mohammed Nasser al Zaabi, Secretary-General at Ministry of Defence ; Lt Gen Abdullah bin Khamis al Raisi, Chief of Staff of SAF; Gen Mattar Salim al Balushi, Commander of Royal Army of Oman; Maj Gen Khamis bin Hammad al Ghafri, Commander of Royal Air Force of Oman; and Rear Admiral Saif Nasser al Rahbi, Commander of Royal Navy of Oman.
