Damascus, Syria – The Israeli military has launched approximately 250 airstrikes on Syrian territory, targeting and destroying critical military infrastructure, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported today.
According to the observatory, the air raids, which began at dawn last Sunday, have struck key military installations across Syria, leading to significant destruction. The strikes reportedly targeted a wide range of facilities, including airports, aircraft squadrons, radar systems, military communications stations, and weapons and ammunition depots.
In addition, scientific research centres and air defence systems were also hit during the bombardments. Notably, the attacks extended to an air defence facility and warships located at the port of Latakia, a key coastal city in northwestern Syria.
The airstrikes have increased ongoing tensions in the region, with Israel continuing its military actions aimed at weakening Syria’s strategic military capabilities.
