Duqm – The Sultanate of Oman has taken a significant step towards establishing itself as a key player in the global space sector with the successful test launch of its first experimental scientific space rocket, Duqm 1. The launch, which took place under the supervision of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, was carried out by Etlaq, a subsidiary of the National Space Services Company (NASCOM).

The achievement marks a historic milestone for Oman as it positions itself as a regional gateway to space. The successful launch forms part of the Sultanate’s broader strategic initiatives to strengthen its space sector, enhancing its global position in the field of scientific research and space exploration.
