Muscat – The 13th Muscat International Jewellery Exhibition (MIJEX) opened on Tuesday at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC), bringing together more than 50 exhibitors from 10 countries.
The event, a key highlight in the GCC’s luxury goods calendar, runs until December 7 and showcases an extensive range of jewellery, including gemstones, pearls, diamonds, and gold ornaments, as well as contemporary and classic designs.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Lujaina Mohsin Haider Darwish, former member of the State Council, in the presence of dignitaries, industry leaders, and jewellery enthusiasts. Organised by OCEC in collaboration with VEGA Inter Trade Exhibitions, the event underscores Oman’s growing role as a hub for high-end craftsmanship and trade in the region.
Eng Said al Shanfari, CEO of OCEC, highlighted the exhibition’s significance. “MIJEX brings together some of the finest jewellery collections from across the Middle East and beyond, offering visitors an unparalleled opportunity to experience and acquire exquisite designs. Beyond luxury goods, this event creates a vibrant platform for designers, brands, and enthusiasts to connect, exchange ideas, and celebrate creativity,” he said.
This year’s event is sponsored by Amaar Jewels, a luxury brand specialising in lab-grown diamonds with a strong presence in Kuwait and the UAE. The company announced plans to expand its footprint by opening a branch in Oman.
“MIJEX is more than an exhibition,” said Akavut Tangsilikusonwong, Managing Director of VEGA Inter Trade Exhibitions. “It’s a gateway for exhibitors to connect with discerning buyers and traders, strengthen their brand presence, and tap into the growing demand for premium jewellery in the region.”
Building on the success of last year’s edition, which drew over 5,000 visitors from across the GCC, the 2024 event is expected to attract even greater interest. Visitors can explore a unique blend of artistry and craftsmanship while engaging with some of the most prominent jewellery designers and brands.
