3 Dec 2024 National campaign promoting clean energy concludes

Muscat – The Authority for Public Services Regulation (APSR) successfully concluded its national campaign, ‘Our Sustainable Energy’, in Muscat governorate on Tuesday. The final stop of the campaign saw broad participation from government and private institutions, civil society organisations, and volunteer teams.

An APSR official said that the Muscat campaign focused on raising public awareness about clean energy, advancing energy efficiency initiatives, and promoting sustainable consumption practices. It also encouraged the adoption of innovative technologies powered by alternative energy sources.

Launched in Dhofar, the campaign visited North Batinah and South Batinah governorates before culminating in Muscat. It attracted over 200 participants from diverse sectors who discussed three main themes: sustainable construction, renewable energy, and electric vehicles.

Throughout the campaign, entities such as the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, Nama Supply Company, Petroleum Development Oman, Nafath Renewable Energy Company, the Electric Vehicles Club, and the Green Universe Foundation presented working papers. These sessions explored topics like energy efficiency, consumption rationalisation, and strategies for ensuring the sustainability of energy projects and environmental development in Oman.

Participants expressed satisfaction with the campaign’s achievements, noting its role in enhancing awareness about clean energy and supporting the sultanate’s strategic goals.
