Suhar – The third edition of the Suhar Festival, which began on November 19, has attracted over 100,000 visitors in its first ten days. Running until January 3, the festival offers a variety of attractions designed to boost tourism in Suhar and the surrounding areas.

An official from the governorate of North Batinah highlighted several new additions to this year’s festival, including a water park, an electronic games city, a children’s activity area, and an enchanting dancing fountain. The ‘Lighting Environments’ display, featuring creative light installations, has become a major attraction, drawing visitors from across the region.

Throughout the festival, visitors can enjoy 35 performances on the Grand Theatre stage, 40 shows on the Children’s Theatre stage, and 105 events in heritage villages that celebrate Oman’s bedouin, agricultural, and marine traditions.

Sports enthusiasts are well catered to with events such as the Suhar Football Festival Championship, featuring 30 teams, and the Sports Academies Championship, involving ten local sports academies. Other highlights include the Suhar International Chess Championship and dhow rowing races, with participants from across the Gulf.

Adding to the excitement, football fans can watch live broadcasts of Gulf Cup matches, starting December 21, on a large screen, creating a vibrant festive atmosphere.

With its diverse lineup of activities and attractions, the Suhar Festival continues to delight visitors and highlight the cultural and sporting heritage of the region.
