Ankara – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of the Republic of Turkiye witnessed the signing of 10 agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs) at the Presidential Complex in Ankara during the His Majesty the Sultan’s state visit to Turkiye on Thursday and Friday.

The pacts aim to strengthen collaboration in investment, health, political consultations, agriculture, fisheries, labour, culture, and central banking. Two significant agreements focus on joint investment and healthcare.

The Oman Investment Authority and the Turkish Armed Forces Retirement Fund (OYAK) signed a pact to establish a $500mn joint investment fund to invest in various sectors, including food, healthcare, renewable energy, and logistics.

The second agreement, between the health ministries of Oman and Turkiye, focuses on cooperation in public health, hospital management, and medical research.

An MoU on political consultations was signed between the foreign ministries to enhance bilateral dialogue. Other MoUs cover sectors such as agriculture, labour relations, entrepreneurship, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and cultural cooperation.

The agreements reflect the mutual commitment to fostering economic growth, cultural exchange, and regional stability. The Central Banks of Oman and Turkiye agreed to cooperate on payment systems, research, and training, while cultural ministries committed to promoting joint artistic exhibitions and cultural events.

The agreements were signed by top officials from both countries, including Oman’s Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr Hamad al Busaidi, and Turkiye’s Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan.

  • MoU to promote cultural exchange, joint exhibitions, and collaboration in arts, libraries, and digitisation
