Sur – The South Sharqiyah Governorate has inaugurated two health tracks in the Wilayat of Sur to encourage healthy lifestyles among residents. The initiative, supported by Oman LNG, was launched under the patronage of His Excellency Dr Yahya bin Badr al Maawali, Governor of South Sharqiyah.
The two tracks, known as the City Centre Track and the Port Track, highlight the governorate’s commitment to fostering physical activity, providing recreational spaces, and boosting tourism and economic growth in the region.
The City Centre Track, also referred to as the Tina Downtown Path Project, spans 1.9 km and features a walking and cycling path. It also includes an open-air theatre and a dedicated area for children’s games, offering a comprehensive recreational experience for families and individuals alike.
Meanwhile, the Port Track stretches 1.2 km and provides additional space for walking and cycling, enhancing accessibility to healthy lifestyle activities in the area.
These projects aim to integrate sports and recreation into daily life while contributing to Sur’s growing appeal as a vibrant and tourist-friendly city.
