Muscat – The University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Shinas held the Second International Conference on Computing and Data Analysis on Tuesday, with participation from international speakers and research papers from 11 countries.
The event was held under the patronage of Sheikh Saba bin Hamdan bin Saba al Saadi, Secretary–General of the National Celebrations.
Dr Ahmed Abdullah al Balushi, assistant Vice Chancellor of the university, said that the conference focused on the latest advancements in computing and data analysis. “The conference committee received 275 research summaries and 286 research papers, reflecting the high level of interest.”
He added that this conference is part of the university’s efforts to bridge academia with industry, expand scientific research, and create a tangible impact on real-world challenges.
“The event underscores the importance of computing and data analysis in enhancing efficiency, supporting data-based decision-making, and guiding future strategies across various sectors.”
The conference covered six main themes: cybersecurity and data privacy, computer networks and communications, artificial intelligence and soft computing, data science and analytics, software engineering, and the ethics of artificial intelligence. The topics were explored through parallel sessions, specialised lectures, and workshops designed to develop the information technology industry.
