Muscat – Celebrity billionaire and CEO of SpaceX and Tesla Elon Musk will not be visiting Muscat, instead he will attend the International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds (IFSWF) meet virtually on November 4.
The organisers of the annual meeting and conference of IFSWF, from November 4-6 in Muscat, had earlier announced that Musk will attend the meeting.
In a media briefing on Wednesday, Nasser Sulaiman al Harthy, Deputy President for Operations at Oman Investment Authority, said that hosting the meeting embodies Oman’s efforts to open new horizons of economic integration with global sovereign wealth funds and enhance investments with them. He informed that the meeting will be attended by officials of the largest sovereign funds in the world, who manage assets over US$8 trillion.
“The conference accompanying the meeting will be attended by a group of prominent speakers, including Elon Musk, who will participate virtually,” said Harthy.
