Muscat – The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth, in collaboration with the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center (OCEC), is organising the Muscat Art Exhibition from Monday with over 200 artists coming from 18 countries to showcase their unique talents.

Under the patronage of H E Qais bin Mohammed al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, the exhibition will be inaugurated on Monday evening at OCEC and will continue till October 31.

H E Said bin Sultan al Busaidi, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, emphasised Muscat Art’s role in Oman’s cultural calendar. “This initiative aligns with our strategic goals, promoting cultural partnerships and enhancing awareness of fine arts.”

He underlined the purpose of the exhibition, which is to highlight the importance of art through workshops and community events.

Eng Said al Shanfari, CEO of OCEC, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the centre’s commitment to fostering cultural projects that support national growth. “Muscat Art aims to bring communities together, showcase Oman’s rich cultural heritage, and embrace the latest trends shaping our artistic landscape,” he said, adding that interest in the event continues to grow each year, thanks to the support from the ministry and other partners.

Artists from countries including Hungary, Iran, Yemen, Palestine, Lebanon, India, the UK and Germany will exhibit their works, with a particular focus on Omani talent. Emerging artists like Hamid al Aufi and established figures such as Youssef al Nuhwi will have dedicated spaces, as curators Alia al Farsi and Hassan Meer thoughtfully gathered works from both local and international artists to ensure broad representation.

The Muscat Art Exhibition has steadily gained popularity and aims to enhance cultural awareness and preserve fine arts heritage in Oman. Organisers hope it will establish itself as a major cultural event in the region. Beyond the exhibition, visitors can attend lectures, workshops, and sculpture sessions, as well as enjoy live music and entertainment from October 29 to 31.
