In Buraimi governorate, the Department of Social Development, in collaboration with the Joint Team for the Elderly, hosted a special event under the theme ‘Their Time is Present’, marking the second edition of this initiative. The event sought to highlight the continuing relevance and contributions of older persons to the community.

In Shinas, part of North Batinah governorate, the celebrations included the opening of an exhibition showcasing the services provided to older persons by community institutions, particularly in the fields of healthcare, education, and social awareness.

In Dhahirah governorate, the Department of Social Development in Binqal organised a trip for elderly participants within the governorate, offering a recreational and social opportunity for those involved.

Meanwhile, in South Batinah governorate, the Social Welfare Home in Rustaq commemorated the day under the theme ‘Aging with Dignity’, reflecting the ongoing efforts to ensure that the elderly are treated with the respect and care they deserve.
