Jeddah – The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned the storming of Al Aqsa Mosque by groups of Israeli settlers, under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces, considering it a provocation to the feelings of all Muslims and a flagrant violation of relevant international charters, agreements and resolutions.

The organisation warned of the danger of the continued and escalating violations of the Israeli occupation in the occupied city of Jerusalem, stressing that Israel has no sovereignty over Jerusalem and its holy sites, and that the entire Al Aqsa Mosque is a place of worship exclusively for Muslims only.

OIC called on the UN Security Council and Unesco to shoulder their responsibilities to put an end to all serious and repeated Israeli violations of the sanctity of holy places and freedom of worship, and renewed its call on the international community to stop the Israeli aggression completely and immediately, and to provide international protection for the Palestinian people, their land and their holy sites.
