Muscat – South Batinah governorate on Monday launched its new promotional identity aimed at enhancing tourism and economic development both locally and internationally, while showcasing its rich heritage, culture, and natural beauty.

The launch ceremony was sponsored by H E Dr Khalfan bin Saeed al Shuaili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning.

Masoud bin Saeed al Hashimi, Governor of South Batinah, said that the move will help create a new identity for the governorate, besides supporting strategic visions for its development in line with Oman Vision 2040.

He informed that the initiative began with a visual identity competition, which garnered significant participation from various segments of the society both within and outside the governorate. “This engagement reflects the community’s enthusiasm for promoting South Batinah’s unique offerings.”

Hashimi explained that the governorate is actively preparing an integrated strategy aimed at achieving comprehensive and sustainable development across various sectors.

“This strategy focuses on key areas such as communication, excellence, and diversity, with the goal of enhancing service efficiency and improving the quality of life for both citizens and residents.”

He added that the strategy will introduce numerous ambitious initiatives designed to develop infrastructure and boost the investment and tourism sectors, positioning the governorate as an attractive destination for both investors and tourists.

The governor noted that the new promotional identity is more than just a slogan. “It signifies a fresh start towards an integrated digital future.”

The governorate will soon launch a portal for electronic services and a smartphone application to streamline procedures for citizens and investors, while enhancing transparency and collaboration with government agencies.

Several digital projects will also be implemented in the coming days. They include upgradation of the existing network infrastructure and linking of government institutions. This move will lead to a significant improvement in public services.
