Muscat – Seven expatriates were arrested for violating the marine fishing law in Al Wusta governorate, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources (MAFWR).

A statement issued by MAFWR said, ‘The fisheries control team, in cooperation with the Coast Guard Police, arrested seven expatriate workers practicing the traditional marine fishing profession in unlicensed fishing boats. The boats and workers were apprehended.’

Legal measures have been initiated against the violators, who are currently detained at the Duqm Police Center, it added.
