Salalah – The Second Businesswomen Forum, organised by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) in Dhofar Governorate, was held today at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex in Salalah. Focusing on women’s economic empowerment, the event aimed to strengthen the role of women in entrepreneurship and promote innovative, sustainable business ventures.
Dr. Fatima bint Ahmed Al Ra’i, Head of the Businesswomen Committee, highlighted the forum’s value in connecting businesswomen across sectors, sharing insights, and advancing small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The goal was to equip women with the skills to manage and grow their businesses.
Under the theme “Made in Dhofar,” the forum featured two key presentations. The first, “Creativity and Innovation in Entrepreneurship” by Dr. Noor bint Abdullah Al Shanfari, explored how creativity and modern technologies drive business growth. The second, “The Role of Training Centres in Supporting Businesswomen,” presented by Dhahab bint Mohammed Habis, highlighted the role of training centres in providing essential skills to women and job seekers.
The event also included an exhibition of female-led projects from Dhofar and a dialogue session on empowering women in entrepreneurship. The forum concluded with Arej bint Mohsen Haider Darwish, Head of the Businesswomen Committee, honouring the participants.
