Salalah – In an effort to woo visitors, Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT) will soon host a series of events called ‘Marhaba Dhofar’ – or ‘Welcome to Dhofar’. These events are designed to attract tourists from both regional and international markets.
Announcing ‘Marhaba Dhofar’, Haitham bin Mohammed al Ghassani, Director General of Tourism Promotion in the ministry, said the events will see wide participation from tourism sector partners within Oman and their counterparts from Saudi Arabia.
The series aims to strengthen cooperation in tourism between Oman and Saudi Arabia and highlight the unique offerings of Dhofar, including the sarb season and winter tourism.
‘Marhaba Dhofar’ is expected to attract 50 tourism companies and 15 prominent media professionals from Saudi Arabia. The programme will feature discussions, bilateral business meetings between Omani and Saudi tourism companies, and visits to key tourist sites and landmarks in the governorate.
