Salalah – The inaugural edition of the Omani Press Forum commenced this evening at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah, drawing around 200 journalists and media professionals from Oman and abroad. The event, which runs until 5 September, was officially opened by His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki al Said, Governor of Dhofar.
The forum features a variety of activities, including a photo exhibition, meetings of the Executive Office of the Asia-Pacific Journalists Association, a joint session between the Gulf Journalists Association and the Asia-Pacific Journalists Association to discuss the formation of the West Asian Federation, and a meeting with the African Federation of Journalists.
Tomorrow, a dialogue seminar titled “Tourism and Economic Investment Opportunities in the Sultanate of Oman, and the Role of the Media in Promoting Them” will be held under the patronage of the Chairman of the Shura Council. The seminar will address various topics, including the economic and tourism landscape in Oman.
The forum is organised by the Omani Journalists Association in partnership with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, with sponsorship from the Ministry of Information, Dhofar Municipality, and several private institutions.
