Muscat – The second edition of ‘Madhuramai Padam Madhuryam Valambam’ to celebrate Onam, the harvest festival of the southern Indian state of Kerala, will be held on September 19.

The event was announced by its organisers KM Trading at a press conference held in City Sea- sons Hotel on Tuesday. It will include singing and payasam (porridge) making competitions in which a large number of contestants are expected to participate.

Addressing the press meet, Mohamed Haneefa, General Manager of KM Trading, said, “We are excited to bring back this event after last year’s positive feedback. This season will be bigger and better, giving young talent a platform to shine.”

Haneefa informed that winners of both competitions will take home attractive gifts. “Our customers can also enjoy exclusive offers during the event. We look forward to everyone’s participation and presence to make this event a grand success.”

The singing competition on September 19 will be held at KM Hypermarket, Al Khuwayr and is open to participants aged ten to 20. Those interested can register via WhatsApp (78955451). Contestants are required to send a 30 second video recording to register, which is open till September 6. Ten shortlisted singers will perform in front of a live audience.

The payasam competition to be held at the same location will have a total of 30 participants. Registration will open from September 6 and continue till September 12.
