Muscat – Injaz Oman recently concluded its ‘Student Company’ programme and competition for the 2023/2024 cycle with a notable event at the Madinat Al Irfan Theatre within the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre in Muscat. The initiative, aimed at enhancing the creative and leadership skills of young Omanis, seeks to prepare them for the job market with increased confidence and competence.
The programme saw participation from university students and young entrepreneurs across Oman, who presented their projects to a panel of local experts and investors. The event was sponsored by H E Sultan bin Salim al Habsi, Minister of Finance, and attended by various dignitaries and officials from both public and private sectors.
Khalid bin Mohammed al Zubair, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Injaz Oman, delivered a keynote address underscoring the importance of youth empowerment and entrepreneurship. He highlighted that the foundation has benefitted over 70,000 individuals to date. This year’s competition featured 2,309 participants from 72 educational institutions, with over 180 student companies and a total of 6,460 working hours recorded.
Al Zubair also commended the 280 volunteers who played a vital role in supporting the programme, emphasising their significant contribution to empowering youth and helping them achieve their aspirations.
