Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia – Sayyid Badr Hamad al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, met Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh in Ulaanbaatar on Monday.

During the meeting, Sayyid Badr conveyed the greetings and best wishes of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to the president and the people of Mongolia, wishing them continued growth and prosperity.

In return, the Mongolian President sent his heartfelt regards to His Majesty the Sultan, along with his best wishes for the Omani people, while expressing a desire to see further development in relations between Oman and Mongolia.

Their discussions focused on strengthening bilateral ties with both sides committing to enhance cooperation across various fields. They also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern.

The meeting was attended by Nasser Mohammed al Busaidi, Oman’s Ambassador to China and Non-Resident Ambassador to Mongolia, Sheikh Abdulaziz Mohammed al Hosni, Head of  Asia and Pacific Department at Foreign Ministry, and several officials from both sides.

In a separate meeting, Sayyid Badr met Battsetseg Batmunkh, Mongolia’s Foreign Minister, to discuss ways to boost economic, trade and investment cooperation. They reviewed recent regional and international developments, stressing the importance of collaboration to ensure security and stability in the Middle East and beyond. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the two foreign ministries to facilitate bilateral consultations.

During his visit, Sayyid Badr also toured the National Museum in Ulaanbaatar, where he and his delegation were introduced to Mongolia’s rich historical and cultural heritage. The exhibits showcased traditional arts, ancient manuscripts and artefacts, highlighting the diversity and long history of the Mongolian people.

Expressing his admiration for the museum’s rare and valuable collection, Sayyid Badr praised the efforts made to preserve Mongolia’s cultural heritage. He emphasised the importance of cultural cooperation between Oman and Mongolia, particularly in the areas of museums and heritage, and the fact that he looked forward to enhancing exchange of expertise and knowledge.

In conclusion, Sayyid Badr thanked his hosts for the warm reception and underscored the importance of cultural communication in strengthening the bonds of friendship between Oman and Mongolia.
