Muscat – Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) started an inspection drive in Musandam on Tuesday to ensure that commercial establishments do not use the sultanate’s official emblems without licence.
In a statement, MoCIIP said, ‘The ministry’s directorate in Musandam continues to conduct inspection visits to various commercial establishments to ensure that these have obtained the necessary permissions to use Oman’s emblem, flag or map on their products.’
It added that using the national emblem or the Royal emblem without licence contravenes Royal Decree No 53/2004 on the Law of the National Flag, Emblem and Anthem. ‘The ministry will take all necessary legal action for violations.’
MoCIIP called on all commercial establishments wishing to use the national emblem on their products or advertisements to apply to the ministry for approval. MoCIIP stated that it will continue to conduct inspection campaigns to monitor markets and take all necessary legal measures against violators.
