Salalah – The activities of the Arab Youth Camp 2024 concluded this evening at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah. Organised by the Omani Youth Centre in cooperation with the Arab Youth Centre in the United Arab Emirates, the nine-day camp coincided with International Youth Day and the Dhofar Khareef season.
Alia bint Saeed al Shanfari, Acting Executive Director of the Youth Centre, noted that the camp provided a valuable opportunity for Arab youth to acquire new knowledge and experiences in an interactive educational environment. She emphasised that the initiative fosters leadership awareness, strategic planning, and constructive communication skills, contributing to the reinforcement of authentic Arab values and traditions.
In her speech, al Shanfari highlighted the Centre’s efforts since its establishment to build strong relationships between Omani and Arab youth, aiming to strengthen cultural and social ties while preserving the shared Arab identity amidst global changes.
The closing ceremony, held under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki al Said, Governor of Dhofar, featured remarks from the 25 participants, who represented various Arab nations, alongside a presentation of camp projects and the content of the programme. Participants and organisers were also honoured during the event.
The Arab Youth Camp in Dhofar Governorate featured a diverse range of training workshops, camps, and youth challenges, including Dhofar Programming and Cyber Security Competitions. The activities focused on enhancing skills in entrepreneurship, innovation, technology, programming, and future skills development.
