Ministry of Education partners with energy companies for  school projects

Muscat – Ministry of Education (MoE) has signed an agreement with Al Suwadi Energy and Al Batinah Energy to fund several educational initiatives in 2024. These include the Interactive Screens Project, Green Schools Project, Integration Classes Project and the STEM Oman Project.

The agreement was signed by H E Majid bin Said al Bahri, Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs in MoE, Abdullah bin Mohammed al Rawa-hy, CEO of Al Suwadi Energy, and Saud bin Hamad al Waili, CEO of Al Batinah Energy. 

The signing was attended by key officials, including Shanoona al Habsi, Assistant Director-General for Special Education and Continuous Learning, and Dr Huda al Dairi, a member of the main committee for the management of the Green Schools Project.

The collaboration aims to enhance the learning environment, improve educational processes and enrich students’ knowledge.

It also seeks to boost the services provided to students, making education more accessible and effective.

H E Bahri highlighted the importance of private sector involvement in education, stating, “This agreement aligns with our educational policy, which stresses the need for cooperation with private sector institutions. By working together, we can develop educational resources, improve services, and ensure that students have access to the best possible educational opportunities. These projects are designed to increase student engagement, raise environmental awareness, support students with special needs, and connect education with real-life experiences through integrated learning in subjects like mathematics, engineering, science, and technology.”

Abdullah bin Mohammed al Rawahy, CEO of Al Suwadi Energy, spoke of the company’s commitment to supporting educational projects. “Our cooperation with the Ministry of Education aims to equip students with the skills they need for a better future. The Green Schools Project, for example, encourages environmental conservation and responsible use of resources. The Integration Classes Project is crucial for supporting students who require special care, while the Interactive Screens Project enhances the way teachers deliver lessons. We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to our society in such meaningful ways.”

Saud bin Hamad Al Waili, CEO of Al Batinah Energy, added, “We are dedicated to supporting initiatives that promote inclusiveness and innovation in education. Our projects are designed to provide better educational opportunities and uphold the values of sustainability, in line with Oman Vision 2040, which seeks to build a prosperous and sustainable future for our nation.”
