Muscat – The Ministry of Education (MoE), through its Department of Educational Studies and International Cooperation, is participating in the Chinese Language Bridge Camp, which is underway in Tianjin city – one of the nine national central cities in Mainland China.
A group of 18 students – 16 students from the governorates of Muscat and Dakhliyah, and two from My Private School at the Tianjin Foreign Studies University in that Chinese city – is taking part in the camp, officials said.
The ministry’s involvement in the camp includes facilitation of a variety of cultural, educational, and entertainment activities.
These include visits to museums that explore the rich history of Chinese culture, and an Omani night. The Omani night programme was chalked out to introduce Omani culture to the Chinese participants through a video showcasing the customs and traditions of the sultanate.
Omani sweets were distributed, and publications on Omani culture and tourism were shared with the participating members.
The students also visited the Tianjin Public Library Museum and the Tianjin City Plan Exhibition. The camp will run until August 21.
