Muscat – H E Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, received a phone call on Saturday from Ismail Haniyeh, head of the Political Bureau of Hamas, during which they discussed the airstrikes carried out by the Israeli occupation forces targeting unarmed civilians in the Al Mawasi area in Khan Younis and Al Shati refugee camp in Gaza, which resulted in the death and injury of hundreds of women, children and elderly.

The two discussed the state of deal proposed by the United States in coordination with Qatar and Egypt, which aims for a ceasefire agreement and exchange the release of prisoners and hostages.

H E Sayyid Badr stressed on Oman’s steadfast support for the just Palestinian cause, and renewed his appeal to the international community to put an end to the Israeli violations and crimes that it has been committing for months without deterrence or accountability.

He emphasised on the need for urgent international action to protect civilians and provide necessary humanitarian and relief assistance.

Haniyeh expressed his appreciation for the Oman’s supportive stances towards the Palestinian cause, pointing out the importance of continuous communication, and strengthening international efforts to implement international resolutions.

He added that the Hamas leadership gave its approval to the US ceasefire proposal.
