Muscat – Tax Authority, in collaboration with various public and private entities, will launch a campaign on July 15. Called ‘Tax Culture’, it will initially focus on Dhofar with plans to expand across all governorates in subsequent phases.
A Tax Authority official stated, “The campaign’s first phase beginning in Dhofar will last for one month, followed by implementation in other governorates.”
The campaign is part of Tax Authority’s continuous efforts to enhance tax awareness and improve the investment climate in the sultanate. It aims to educate citizens and residents about the tax system, including registration procedures and payment methods to promote tax compliance and ensure transparency and fairness.
Key activities of the campaign include establishing dedicated service centres at select public and private agencies in Dhofar to offer tax advisory services and guidance to individuals and businesses. Additionally, educational workshops and seminars will be conducted to familiarise participants with tax laws and regulations. Field visits to institutions are also planned to enhance tax compliance and awareness.
To maximise outreach, awareness drives will utilise various media platforms to educate the public on tax matters.
The initiative underscores Oman’s commitment to achieving economic sustainability and fostering confidence in its equitable and transparent tax system.
