Muscat – Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources (MAFWR) completed maintenance work of 83 aflaj across several governorates in the first half of 2024.

MAFWR statistics for the period between January and June this year shows that of the 83 maintenance projects conducted, one falaj was in Muscat, 13 aflaj in South  Batinah, two in North Batinah, six in North Sharqiyah, four in South Sharqiyah, four in Musandam, six in Buraimi, 21 in Dhahirah, and 26 in Dhofar.

Currently, 127 water projects are underway in different  governorates, which commenced at the beginning of the year and are progressing as per schedule.
