Ibra – The Municipal Council of North Sharqiyah convened on Tuesday to discuss plans for the North Sharqiyah Water Festival at its sixth annual meeting chaired by Governor Mahmoud bin Yahya al Dahli.
Discussions included a proposal for a protective fence along the road to Al Khashaba, Al Buwaitan, and Al Sedira villages in the wilayat of Mudhaibi.
During the session, the council also engaged with the executive management of Namaa Supply Company to review its operations in the governorate.
A local administration programme within the Sustainable Governorates and Cities Development Programme was also launched on Tuesday.
The programme involves several administrative leaders from Muscat, Dhofar, Musandam, Buraimi, North Batinah, South Sharqiyah, Dhahirah and Al Wusta, within the framework of partnership and cooperation between governorates.
Governor Dahli highlighted the programme’s emphasis on developing national leaders aligned with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
The eight-day programme will cover key topics such as Oman’s administration history, global best practices, foundational principles, and the governance framework specific to Oman.
Over 630 participants are expected to benefit from this initiative, supporting sustainable development, institutional excellence and human capital growth.
