Oman is set to target a win against Chinese Taipei in a bid to shore up their chances of topping Group D as they clash on Thursday in the fifth round of the Preliminary Joint Qualification for the FIFA World Cup 2026 and AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027.

With unwavering support from Omani fans and players alike, there’s a strong belief that the team will rise to the occasion and secure a win. Abdullah al Balushi, a devoted fan, expressed confidence in the team’s ability to replicate their earlier victory against Chinese Taipei, emphasising the expertise of their experienced coach.

Echoing this sentiment, Omani national football team player Hareb al Saadi highlighted the significance of the match in their quest to advance to the next stage of the qualifiers. He emphasised the team’s sense of responsibility and determination to achieve a positive outcome.

Jaroslav Silhavy, head coach of the Oman national football team, said, “We respect the Chinese Taipei team, realise the difficulty of the match, and strive to continue achieving positive results. We have prepared for the match well, we hope that the weather will be good and we are prepared for all circumstances.”

The match is scheduled to kick off at 3pm (Oman Time) in the Republic of China, with Oman aiming to build on their earlier dominant victory over Chinese Taipei at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher in November 2023.
