Musandam – Sulayem bin Ali bin Sulayem al Hakmani, Chairman of the Consumer Protection Authority (CPA), visited Musandam governorate on Wednesday as part of his series of field visits to various governorates in Oman.
The purpose of these visits is to enhance communication with consumers, follow up on the progress of work at CPA’s offices, review the efforts made by CPA staff, and check these efforts in reality.
During the visit, a meeting took place between Hakmani and Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said al Busaidi, Governor of Musandam.
The agenda of the meeting focused on topics related to consumer protection, including CPA’s complementary role with various institutions related to the consumer and CPA’s continuous efforts to raise public awareness, efforts made to address consumers’ complaints and combat commercial fraud and imitation.
The meeting also reviewed the efforts made in monitoring and inspecting markets, monitoring observations and suggestions, strengthening cooperation among stakeholders and improving performance.
As part of the visit, Hakmani conducted a field tour of the markets in Musandam, where he interacted with consumers and suppliers, listened to their needs, and discussed the challenges they face. He emphasised that the CPA is committed to addressing these challenges and finding suitable solutions.
