Ibra – North Sharqiyah Municipality has commenced construction of an integrated fruits and vegetables central market in the wilayat of Ibra.

Zubaida bint Salim al Shidhaniya, Spokesperson of Governorate of North Sharqiyah, informed that the project includes an integrated central market covering an area of approximately 1,404sqm.

“The wilayats of North Sharqiyah serve as a food basket of many seasonal crops. Consequently, the market will provide opportunities for investors and facilitate the promotion and sale of local products,” Zubaida said.

The project will feature 12 shops, four cold stores, and an external yard for buying and selling. Additionally, it will include service facilities, public parking, external canopies, landscaping, and recreational facilities.

Zubaida added that the central market will stimulate commercial activity in Ibra and throughout North Sharqiyah. “The project will be a significant contributor to local markets in the wilayat, supplying retail stores with vegetables and fruits. This is due to the diversity of agricultural crops in the governorate, including grapes, mangoes, lemons, leafy greens, various date crops and citrus fruits.”
