Muscat – The Oman haj mission for Hijri year 1445 AH left Oman on Sunday for the Holy Lands in Saudi Arabia.
The mission was seen off at Muscat International Airport by H E Dr Mohammed Said al Ma’amari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs.
The mission, led by Sultan Said al Hinai, will head straight to its headquarters in Mecca.
During the visit to Mecca and Medina, the Oman haj mission will serve the 14,000 pilgrims from the sultanate. It will also look after the pilgrims’ performance of haj rituals.
Of the 14,000 pilgrims, 13,500 are Omanis, 250 are Arab residents in Oman and 250 non-Arab residents. This is in addition to members of 31 licensed haj companies.
