Muscat – The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) in Dakhliyah governorate mediated a dispute between a consumer and a local workshop specialising in door manufacturing and installation.
The issue began when a consumer lodged a complaint with the department, alleging that after paying a down payment of RO1480 to a commercial establishment for door manufacturing and installation, the establishment failed to provide an invoice or specify a delivery timeline.
Additionally, the establishment procrastinated in fulfilling the contract, leaving the consumer dissatisfied.
Prompt action by CPA led to an amicable settlement, resulting in the consumer receiving a full refund of the amount paid.
CPA urges suppliers to comply with existing consumer protection laws and fulfill their contractual obligations.
