28 May 2024 Oman Vision meet reviews sustainable growth of cities, governorates

Muscat – The Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit kick-started a meeting on Monday in the wilayat of Nizwa in Dakhliyah governorate, focused on the ‘All of Oman’ project, which prioritises development of sustainable cities and governorates.

The three-day meet opened under the patronage of Sheikh Hilal bin Saeed al Hajri, Governor of Dakhliyah.

The meeting reviewed audiovisual presentations on the Oman Vision 2040 and the All of Oman project, officials informed. Additionally, workshops on continuous improvement methodology will be held to simplify procedures, review existing projects, prepare implementation plans, and discuss their outcomes.

The three-day meeting also features a session with youth, as part of the government’s community participation programme.

It recognises community participation as essential in achieving the future goals, while a session with the youth attempts to showcase the governorate’s prominent young talents.

“To implement the initiatives of the Community Participation Programme, we seek to visit all governorates,” said Abdullah bin Nasser al Saidi, supervisor of the Community Participation Programme for the Oman 2040 Vision.

“So far, we have visited three governorates: Buraimi, North Batinah, and South Sharqiyah. As we tour Dakhliyah, we will carry out a number of activities and events targeting local administrations, and governmental and private institutions to achieve the necessary partnership and empowerment to align efforts towards the Vision 2040.”

Saidi added that a dedicated session will introduce young people to the most important developments in the stages of implementing the vision, explain their roles, and gather their suggestions, while stressing that the programme continues to achieve its goals.
